GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- A woman from New Jersey is facing charges of having sex with a teenager from Gainesville.
Police say Lisa Silva, 42, met the 16-year-old boy over YoVille, a game on Facebook. The two exchanged phone calls, text messages, emails and letters and ultimately agreed to meet in person.
The couple met three times in person, and in two of those occasions had sex, according to police. The sexual encounters happened in December of 2011 and February of 2012 in Gainesville.
Silva admitted to traveling to Gainesville but denied having sex with the boy.
Authorities arrested Silva in Carteret, New Jersey on February 18 during a traffic stop. She's been charged with Unlawful Sexual Activity with a Minor and Traveling to Meet Minor for Unlawful Sexual Contact.
