JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- Action News cameras were rolling as a thief returned merchandise he stole from a beauty supply store.Billy Song is just trying to keep his small business afloat. He admits, it's not easy in this economy.
That's why he called Action News with surveillance video showing two suspects taking hair weaves from his store. "I just saw when they ran away," said Song.
They ran away with nearly $300 worth of stuff. So, Song wanted to straighten them out. In the surveillance video, the suspects weaved through the store and stuffed hair in the bags. While Action News was there Friday night, another customer recognized the man in the video and called him up.
The owner was thankful. "I just want a deep apology, not just lying," said Song.
Sure enough, the man in the video showed up at the store with the stolen merchandise in hand. He told the owner he was sorry and begged him not to call police. He didn't have anything to say to our cameras, but promised the man he wouldn't be back in the store. "Never do again. It's no good for your future," said Song. "I'm deeply sorry," said the suspect.
The woman in the surveillance video did not come in to return the merchandise to the store.
