JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A University of North Florida study reveals Duval County residents think its leaders can do better.

The university found 48 percent of adults approve of the job the Jacksonville City Council is doing. Those polled are satisfied with arts and cultural activities (77%), availability of parks and open spaces (73%), and infrastructure like roads and bridges (67%).

On the other hand, residents are not interested in paying for certain things around Jacksonville. Topping the list are parks, libraries and cultural infrastructure. Just 39 percent of respondents said they were willing to increase their tax contribution to fund the arts. Libraries garnered just 40 percent while parks (52%) and infrastructure (50%) fared slightly better.

The full results are below. UNF used its telephone-polling lab to conduct the study. The 917 participants were chosen at random according to the school. The poll was conducted from Feb. 4-Feb. 12.
