JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police found two people dead inside a home on the Southside on Friday.
It was late in the afternoon, just after 4 p.m., when detectives say a mother came home to her house in the Covington Creek Community to find her daughter, Lauren N. Allen, and her daughter's male friend dead inside.
Both people were in their early 20s.
"The indications are that this is a murder-suicide," sad JSO Sgt. Jay Farhat.
Police are still investigating who is the suspect and who is the victim in this case, and if their relationship extended beyond friendship. All detectives could say Friday night was "that they've known each other for quite awhile."
"Today ,there's a lot of troubled people out there, a lot of young kids too," neighbor Edward Dillon said, "It certainly makes you think."
The names of the victims have not been released. Police have left the scene.
