Thousands attend St. Augustine Beach Blast Off
ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH, Fla. --Thousands of people rang in the New Year at the St. Augustine Beach Blast Off.
It was the city's 7th annual New Year's Eve party and this year the crowds seemed better than ever.
There was music to enjoy, a chili cook-off, and of course, fireworks. The fireworks went off at 8:30 p.m. and could be seen for miles along the coastline as people packed the pier to get a good view and celebrate the start of new beginnings.
"Just the excitement of being here and the start of a new year, and a new wonderful winter for us in St. Augustine," said Bob Schork, one of the spectators.
The fireworks lasted around 20 minutes and were followed by the Family and Friends dance party.
