JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A mother fights to keep her composure as she also fights for justice for her son and comes face to face with his alleged killer.

"I just want justice for my son, that's it," said Chontel Gergar. "It's hurtful to know that he's there and my son is not here with me," she said.

14-year-old Horace James Jr. was shot and killed by a stray bullet. Police say a group of young men were fighting outside a teen nightclub in September 2010. Jeremiah Corbett is believed to be behind the trigger.

James' sister says her baby brother was caught in the crossfire.

"He was an innocent bystander," said sister, Marquesha Rivers. "He was 14 years old waiting on my sister, and a bullet just hit him for no reason."

Emotions ran so high during witness testimony on Wednesday, the family had to leave the courtroom to get some air.

"He was just a baby," Rivers said in tears.

Horace's family prays justice will come as soon as Thursday, when the jury begins deliberations. Still, they say no guilty verdict will ever make their pain go away.

"Nothing can make it go away because my brother's not here," said Rivers.

Corbett's attorney argues that Horace and a second teen who was shot, but survived were not the intended targets. He claims other men involved in the case are putting the blame on Corbett to save themselves.
