JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The man accused of killing a local teenager during a confrontation over loud music at a gas station appeared in court today.
Michael Dunn is facing first-degree murder charges in the death of Jordan Davis.
Davis and Dunn crossed paths at a Gate gas station last month. Dunn told police he asked Davis and his friends, who were all sitting in a car, to turn down their music.
Dunn told police he felt threatened and shot inside the car after the teens showed a gun. Police did not find a gun in the car.
Dunn also faces three counts of attempted murder and one count of shooting or throwing a deadly missile. He is due back in court on December 17.
Prosecutors tell Action News they do not plan to pursue the death penalty in the case.
