MIDDLEBURG, Fla. -- St. Vincent’s HealthCare continues to march towards its goal of opening a new medical center off of Bran Field-Chaffee Road by October 2013.

St. Vincent’s HealthCare named Blain Claypool the first medical center’s president Friday.

Claypool currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of South Meadows Medical Center in Reno, Nevada.

“I am honored and humbled to accept this position and become a part of the growing St. Vincent’s family,” said Claypool. “I look forward to expanding the Mission to families in Clay County who have long awaited these services and will benefit from this type of high-quality care for generations to come.”

When completed, the 36-acre medical campus will employ nearly 300 workers and accommodate around 220 patients.
