JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting at the Westchase Court apartment complex. Police found a man shot multiple times early Monday morning.

"Once they got here, they discovered the victim. He was on the ground," said Sgt. Daniel Janson of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. "He had been shot multiple times. We're not sure how many at this point. He was talking, but he was in distress. So he didn't give a lot of information at that point."

Police say 28-year-old Gregory Martin was shot in the chest and leg. They are now searching the neighborhood for clues and witnesses.

"Right now there's a subject outstanding," Janson said. "We don't have any indication who it may be. He didn't give us any indication of who it may be."

Martin is currently listed in critical condition at UF & Shands Hospital in Jacksonville.

Police found an SUV riddled with bullet holes.  Police are not sure if the shots came from inside the car, or whether the shooter was shooting at the victim from outside the SUV.

If you have any information that can help police find a suspect in this shooting, make a call to Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.  You will remain anonymous and could get a cash reward of up to $1,000 if your tip leads to an arrest.
