BRANTLEY COUNTY, Ga. -- Schools will be closed in Brantley County for the second straight day on Wednesday due to stormy weather.
The rain has turned many of the 479 miles of dirt road into mud.
County crews put clay down on the dirt roads to help firm the soft sand during the summer. But after it rains, the clay turns it into mush.
The Brantley County sheriff compares it to driving on mashed potatoes.
Action News Ryan Smith is in Brantley County tonight and he'll have when emergency leaders expect the roads to be passable again on Action News beginning at 5 p.m. on CBS47.
