ST AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Hundreds of Pedro Menendez High School staff, students and family members entered the Anastasia Baptist Church with heavy hearts as they said their final good-byes to 19-year-old Ryan Ford.
Carmen Conner is a family friend who is still coming to terms with her grief.
"What happened to Ryan was really a tragedy, but we will always remember him. He is gone, but never forgotten," said Conner.
The service lasted a little over an hour. People there said the service really represented Ford's short life well.
Ford was killed in Jacksonville last Saturday night at a bonfire party. Police arrested and charged 22-year-old Robert Cline and 25-year-old Christopher Hoffman with beating him to death. The men face manslaughter and battery charges.
Ford was buried at Craig Memorial Park.
