Jacksonville, FLA. - Grand Asian (also listed as Gand Asian in the state record database) is a stand alone restaurant located on Merrill Road in Jacksonville. It's been open for three years now. Grand Asian is owned by a man who told us his name is Mr. Li. When we walked in the door he asked us what we wanted... we told him we were here to ask him about these violations. There were 21 of them, 8 were high priority.

Mr. Li took us right into the kitchen... right into the walk-in cooler to show us he's only using the proper containers now. We did find an orange five gallon multi purpose paint bucket in the kitchen too. Li insists he was only storing vegetables in the bucket - but isn't anymore. He promised he fixed all the violations in the report.

On our way out we checked the ice bin by the drive-thru. We found dozens of drinks stored in with the ice used in customer's drinks. We asked Mr. Li why he had not fixed this problem. He responded, "My daughter did it."

We watched as Mr. Li emptied the ice bin of all drinks and ice. He then replaced the ice with a fresh batch.

Cross Creek BBQ & Steak House on Lane Avenue and Copeland's of New Orleans on Southside Boulevard
rounded out the top three restaurants with the most number of high priority violations this week.
