JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- On-&-off rain will continue through midnight tonight with isolated thunderstorms mixed in. While there is a low risk for a strong to severe storm, any severe weather will be isolated. But rain will be widespread and heavy at times making for a slow afternoon and evening commute. Rainfall totals will average a quarter to a half inch for metro Jacksonville and Northeast Florida to a half inch to an inch in Southeast Georgia. Rain will end west to east after midnight leaving the area with a partly to mostly cloudy sky Friday and cooler temperatures with highs in the mid 60s to lower 70s. If you have travel plans, a major winter storm will affect New England and some other parts of the Northeast U.S. later Friday into Saturday.
