JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- On-&-off rain will continue through midnight tonight with isolated thunderstorms mixed in.  While there is a low risk for a strong to severe storm, any severe weather will be isolated.  But rain will be widespread and heavy at times making for a slow afternoon and evening commute.  Rainfall totals will average a quarter to a half inch for metro Jacksonville and Northeast Florida to a half inch to an inch in Southeast Georgia.  Rain will end west to east after midnight leaving the area with a partly to mostly cloudy sky Friday and cooler temperatures with highs in the mid 60s to lower 70s.  If you have travel plans, a major winter storm will affect New England and some other parts of the Northeast U.S. later Friday into Saturday.  Air travel will be significantly impacted from Washington D.C. and Philadelphia to especially New York City and Boston.  Click here for air travel info.....here for highway reports.  Send First Alert weather  photos ** here **.
