CRESCENT BEACH, Fla. -- Detectives in St. Johns County are trying to identify the remains of a person found along the beach back in 1985.
Investigators now say it was a female who was discovered about a mile north of the Crescent Beach on April 11, 1985. It has been determined the body was that of a woman between the ages of 20 and 40. Scientists believe she was about 5' 7" with brown hair. The body was decomposed to the point that investigators are unable to determine a cause of death but they do believe it was a homicide.
Police today released a plaster mold of what the woman may have looked like when she was alive. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers at (888) 277-8477.
