JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Two new proposals for the supervisor of elections office could save tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars.
The Gateway Mall proposal would slash monthly rent in half. That payment would grow over a 10-year term, but stay lower than its current level. Gateway also promised to make building improvements.
Another proposal from a different company would charge even lower rent and offers to cover the cost of moving.
The city recommends either of those two lease options rather than spend millions of dollars to build another location as other proposals have suggested.
