ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Mosquito worries in St. Augustine are subsiding.

The health department has lifted the mosquito advisory in St. Johns County.

It's been in place since May of 2012 when sentinel chickens tested positive for West Nile Virus.

The cooler weather is helping keep mosquito activity at bay.

The health department, however, wants to remind people there is a risk of mosquito-borne disease transmission year-round in Florida so it's important to continue to drain standing water, cover skin with repellent or clothing, and cover the doors and windows of your home.
