JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A local surfer won top honors today at a competition in Puerto Rico.
Cody Thompson, 23, won the inaugural 4-Star 2013 Rip Curl Pro Puerto Rico.
Thompson was trailing throughout the final but battled back to win and even earned the highest single-wave score for the entire event.
