JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- Hundreds gathered in Mandarin tonight to pay respects to Jordan Davis.
Many teens couldn't hold back their tears, clinging to each other for support. It was an emotional sight outside Jordan's memorial. Friends like Anthony Branch say it was even harder inside. "It's really tough to see him like that. He looks like a whole other person, sad," said Branch.
Jordan was a high school senior. He was killed while sitting in a SUV last Friday at the Gate gas station on Baymeadows Road and Southside Boulevard.
Parents are even struggling with what happened. "He was on the floor in my house, now he's in a casket," said parent Yvonne Williams.
Parents say it's now tough to explain why something like this could happen. "Devastated, a lot of crying. As a mom, my son is the same age as Jordan. My heart breaks. I haven't been able to sleep since Friday. I just keep thinking that could've been my son," said Brenda Williams.
That's why they're holding their kids a little closer and remembering how fast life can change. Jordan Davis will be laid to rest Saturday at noon at the Trinity Church of God in Powder Springs, Ga. He will be buried at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.
