JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Wednesday, lawyers for Rasheem Dubose dug deep into his past to ensure him a future behind bars. A criminologist was brought forth to talk to jurors about Dubose's violent abusive upbringing. Jurors saw his grade school picture and even heard from several of his former teachers; all to paint a different picture of the man now found guilty of murdering 8 year-old DreShawna Davis

Rasheem's 2nd grade teacher Linda Wolf told jurors, "..his personality was such that you always want to do more for him. He was very respectful and he always cared about his work. He's one of those ones that you will remember," she said.

It was acknowledged by both sides that Rasheem had a rough time growing up but disciplinary reports obtained by Action News allege he's been giving corrections officers guards a rough time behind bars.

Since he's been locked up, reports say he was caught several times with contraband like pills and pornographic magazines. He was also said to have made a "shooting" motion at several guards.

His brothers Terrell and Tajuan have a laundry list of write ups as well from being caught with marijuana to even masturbating in front of a female guard.

Both sides rested their cases on Wednesday. Closing arguments are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
