JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The City of Jacksonville has declared an impasse in its negotiations over retirement reform with the Fraternal Order of Police.
The city filed a request to have a special magistrate appointed to the matter.
Derrel Chatmon from the General Counsel's Office said the city "stands ready to resume negotiations over retirement benefits at any time and hopes that the FOP president and his negotiating team will rejoin us at the table."
The city says the two sides ratified four collective bargaining agreements this past January, but the issue of retirement benefits were set to be ironed out over a series of meetings in the fall.
