JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police have arrested a local man they say admitted to shooting and killing another man during a fight over money. 19-year-old Christopher Charles is charged with murder in the shooting death of 33-year-old Ferneze Jones. Jones was killed Tuesday afternoon outside Charles' home on Nadia Michelle Ct. South in Arlington.
Investigators say Charles admitted he shot Jones several times in the chest with a rifle. Charles says Jones threatened him earlier in the day. He says he shot Jones when Jones showed back up at his house. There is no indication Jones had any kind of weapon on him when he was shot.
Charles also faces a charge of battery.
