JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- The workweek will begin warm and mostly dry. Temperatures will be in the 50s to low 60s early in the day but quickly warm into the 70s and low 80s in the afternoon. An approaching cold front will cause a band of showers and isolated thunderstorms to move into Southern Georgia and North Florida from Waycross to Lake City very late in the day or by early evening. In addition an isolated shower or storm could develop ahead of the line of showers but long parts of the day, especially closer to Jacksonville and the coast will be dry. Showers will then spread across metro Jacksonville and the rest of the area Monday evening but rainfall is generally expected to be light averaging less than a quarter of an inch. The front will then be followed by some beautiful midweek weather Tuesday and Wednesday before the next storm system approaches late Thursday.
